Chapter 14 – Kurt

Fish Pose

Sanskrit: Matsyāsana

Pronounced: “Mot-see-ahs-anna”

Can you surpass yourself by believing in love?
Come along to Norway, where our monkeys meet a very tired and sad salmon who is completely heartbroken.
Perhaps Sweet & Chimp brought a solution with them?

The fish

  1. Come down and lie on your back with your legs stretched together.
  2. Put your hands in the mat under your balls and start crawling your elbows and shoulders under your body so that your arms disappear completely under you. Notice that the chest begins to lift.
  3. Push your elbows, forearms and hands well down towards the mat so that your upper arms, shoulders and head lift while the shoulder blades pull towards each other on your back.
  4. See if you can put the top of your head in the mat, look behind yourself.
  5. Keep pushing your chest up and feel your breathing in and out through your nostrils.
  6. Stay here for 5-6 breaths and get out of position gently.
